Welcome to DareMe. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the DareMe mobile application ("App").

By using DareMe, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Who We Are

DareMe is a social challenge app that allows users to dare friends, complete challenges, and compete on leaderboards. The App is operated by the DareMe development team ("we", "us", or "our").

2. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

• Email address and display name (collected when you register via Firebase Authentication)
• Profile photo (if you choose to upload one)
• Unique user ID generated by Firebase

b) App Usage Data

• Groups you create or join
• Dares you post, complete, or interact with
• Leaderboard scores and rankings
• Friends/group member relationships

c) Purchase & Subscription Data

• Subscription status (monthly or annual premium plan)
• Purchase receipts processed via Google Play Billing
• Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details — these are managed entirely by Google Play.

d) Advertising Data

• If you use the free (non-premium) version of DareMe, ads are served by Google AdMob
• AdMob may collect device advertising IDs, IP address, and usage data to serve relevant ads
• Premium subscribers do not see ads and are not subject to ad-related data collection

e) Device & Technical Data

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Crash reports and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics, if enabled)
• IP address and general location (country/region level only)

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your DareMe account
• To enable core app features: groups, dares, leaderboards, and social interactions
• To process and manage premium subscriptions
• To display relevant advertisements to free users
• To improve the App through analytics and crash reporting
• To communicate with you about your account or updates (if you opt in)
• To enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following trusted service providers:

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database (Firestore), and analytics. Firebase Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — Subscription management and purchase validation. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob — Ad serving for free-tier users. AdMob Privacy Policy
• Google Play — App distribution and payment processing. Google Privacy Policy

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Firestore, a cloud database with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We apply security rules ensuring that users can only read and write their own data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Children's Privacy

DareMe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.

Users between 13–17 must have parental consent to use the App.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update inaccurate information via your in-app profile settings
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt-out of ads: Upgrade to a premium subscription to remove all ads
• Data portability: Request an export of your data

8. Advertising & Opt-Out

Free users of DareMe see ads delivered by Google AdMob. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

Premium DareMe subscribers do not receive any advertisements.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

10. How to Delete Your Account

You can request the deletion of your DareMe account and all associated personal data at any time. Upon request, we will permanently delete your account and data within 30 days.

To delete your account, contact us at:

• Email: privacy@dareme.app with the subject line "Delete My Account"
• Include the email address associated with your DareMe account

After deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:

• Your account credentials and profile information
• All dares and group activity you created
• Your leaderboard scores and records

Note: Some data may be retained for up to 30 days in backups before being fully purged. Subscription cancellations should be managed separately through Google Play → Subscriptions before requesting account deletion.
